We used to meet on Tuesdays, but we\u2019re officially meeting on Saturdays so both public school and homeschool kids can join the fun. Each month\u2019s date and time will be posted on Facebook and in our calendars. Keep an eye out \u2014 adventure is just around the corner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Announcements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Library Explorers had a truly fantastic launch in September! We kicked things off with our <strong>Science Lab<\/strong> theme, where our young scientists got hands-on with carbon snakes, foaming explosions, and took home supplies for their own lava lamps and Coke-and-Mentos experiments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This month, we are keeping that amazing momentum going by bringing all the <strong>spooky fun vibes<\/strong>! For October, our sessions will dive into Halloween-inspired STEM challenges. Kids will get to engineer their own spider webs, mix up batches of creepy slime, and experiment with making floating ghosts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Want to join the adventure?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Who:<\/strong> Elementary students ages 7\u201311.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>When &amp; Where:<\/strong> Remember, Library Explorers has moved to <strong>Saturdays<\/strong> this year! We talked about the importance of water \u2014 starting with our own bodies and then connecting it to rainfall. Explorers made <strong>rain in a jar<\/strong> (a messy delight!), created <strong>cloud viewfinders<\/strong> that we used to identify cloud types, and finished the day by making <strong>pinwheels<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 67%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">April looked a little different \u2014 instead of a separate Library Explorers session, <strong>all of our youth groups came together for America 250 Kite Day!<\/strong> We had \u201cBen Franklin\u201d join us to share his life story and inventions, and then he walked with the kids to the field to fly kites. So while the pictures have mysteriously escaped, the fun definitely didn\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">March\u2019s session was all about <strong>Bits, Bytes, &amp; Bracelets<\/strong>. We explored how all that motion affects the warmth or chill we feel here on Earth.
