What’s new and upcoming in the Kids Korner?

Story Time is back!! Running Wednesday mornings at 11 am, September through May. Each week brings a fun story followed by a craft, and we’re excited to have a wonderful group of volunteers ready to read to the kiddos.

Just around the corner, Library Explorers returns — and big news — it’s moving to Saturdays this year. Dates and times will be posted in the calendar and on Facebook. This is our STEAM program for elementary students ages 7–11, and you can find full details by visiting the Library Explorers page.

Before we know it, the holidays will be here. – Can you believe it?!?! We can’t either – Closer to Christmas, we’ll open our first-ever Library Rewards Store, where youth can spend the Library Bucks they’ve been earning. Learn how to earn and spend Library Bucks here.

In other news, you already know you can check out kids’ books and DVDs — but now you can also borrow kids’ games and puzzles from a dedicated shelf in the Kids Korner. ABCmouse is available on the computers, and homeschool resources are also available in the Kids Korner. There’s so much for kids to explore, so stop in, take a look, and ask a librarian if you’d like to learn more.

Kids Zone Rules

The Kids Zone is a special space designed for learning, creativity, and exploration. To keep it safe and enjoyable:

Before Entering

  • Please notify a librarian before going downstairs to the Kids Zone.

Kids Zone Rules

  • A parent or guardian must ALWAYS remain with the child(ren) No exceptions — this is for safety.
  • Clean up before leaving
  • Return items to their proper place If unsure, place them in the designated return cart.
  • This is not a playground No running, jumping, climbing, spinning on poles, or “monkeying around” on furniture.
  • No food, drinks, candy, or gum
  • Have fun! Enjoy the space respectfully and safely.
